The messages are continuous, ubiquitous, and relentless – sometimes explicit, sometimes implicit. You are not enough. You have nothing worthwhile to contribute. You are different. You are not one of us. You are alone.

And She Flew is the unabashedly joyful and self-affirming response to, and rejection of, those messages. In a time when negativity can spread across social media like wildfire with the click of a button, and so many of us still do not see ourselves reflected in our society’s leadership and norms, we need all the encouragement we can get to step away and open our wings and sing our own song.
